Today...

Today was such a beautiful day! It was sunny and clear blue sky! Much needed after all the rain we've been having. I listened to the sweet sounds of Jeremy Larson as I drove home with the windows down! I decided with the beautiful day should come a mini-photo shoot! So here are a few shots! Oh and I dyed my hair RED! I love it! I'm such a fan! I got to meet up with one of my lovely friends Jill! She is the sweetest person you will ever meet! We talked and laughed and she gave me the most BEAUTIFUL painting ever!!! I can't wait to get it framed! All in all this was a fantastic Thursday! Tonight Talia's having a game night and we shall play all sorts of games like Apples to Apples, Celebrity, Nertz and Mad Gab! We always have so much fun! I'm not gonna lie I have such awesome friends! We laugh like it's our jobs and I'm so thankful! Yay!!!
My BEAUTIFUL art by my talented and beautiful friend Jill! Thank You Jilly!

Shenanigans...

Oh what a night! So Thursday night my friend Wilma and I decide to go see a friends band play! She texted me saying she had a suprise for me at her house and to hurry up! So dressed in my favorite Cher shirt, my standard leggings, a sweater and nerd glasses I headed over! To my delight and suprise standing in the kitchen, was our friend Donny! It was so fun to see him after like a year of him living in Eugene! So we head over to where DrySeason was playing and then the REAL fun began!
Wilma and I are not smokers, but we went outside where all the smokers were and we were just standing around laughing, making fun of people and the silly things they say when drunk when this older man comes up to us and starts talking! We talked for a minute maybe and went back inside and played some Big Buck Safari and walked around talking to people and having fun! Then we see our old man friend sitting at the bar with two younger men chatting it up! We wave, he calls us over and preceeds to tell the two young men, "These girls are crazy! This one's HOT and this one's NOT!" Me being the "NOT!" I was in shock for a moment said, "Awesome! Thanks!" and walked off.
I don't get how someone has the balls to say that to someone's face! Especially, someone they don't know!!! I know I'm not a size 0 and I never will be but give me a break I'm not that ugly! His opinion really doesn't matter because well I'm not alone at a bar in my 60's, but regardless it still hurt my feelings! It made me think of how jacked up our society is in how we view beauty. It makes me sad that so many wonderful, smart, beautiful and talented women are being told they are not really beautiful because they aren't a certain size. Why are we not celebrating the wonderful gifts and talents of people? Why are looks so important? Don't get me wrong I know I'm part of the problem! I judge and hold myself and others to this idea of "real beauty" and it makes me sick to my stomach! But after that so not awesome comment I don't want to be apart of the problem but the solution! I know who I am and I'm proud of myself. My worth and value isn't in what I look like or if I'm dating someone. My worth and value are in who I am in Christ Jesus! Cheesy as that may be it's still true! He loves me more than anyone ever will!
So suck it old man! Haha! So loving I know!

My Mom, Dad and I took my car, Rosemary, over to Bend, OR this past weekend for my Sissy's 33rd birthday! On Saturday my Dad and I went out to breakfast where he used to take me on Saturday mornings sometimes growing up! Now he's on the wall of fame! I'm so proud!

For the Sister's birthday dinner we went to Greg's Grill! They made special menu's for us! So sweet! It was so fun to spend time with my sister! She's so beautiful!

My Mama! She's so precious!
Toni & Lauren My Sister's Bestie Joe's parentals.

Blowing out that candle!

After dinner I met up with my BESTIE from junior high Michele "Mango!" We went kareoke at a place called Bo's! It was so fun! I sang Cher's "Believe" and Mango in her kareoke debut sang Alanis Morrisette's "You oughtta know" it was so funny! We made friends with some people and stole the show for sure!
Mango and Kiwi...reunited and it feels so good!

We found one of our besties from junior high David Williams! It was good to see him! Sometimes I miss Bend and wonder what life would have been like had we not moved to Southern California. Howevs it's always fun to visit!

On the Sister's actual birthday we went to a place called Boston's. It was amazing food! We laughed the whole time we were there! A friend from way back in the day came with us! Plus my Mom's bestie and her husband, Joe and his parents and their friends. It was a big ol' party! Then we made the long trip home to Grants Pass, OR! Sad day but totes worth the drive and gas money!

It's Micah Wood! What?!

It's About Time...

So last night I decided it was time to go through the makeup drawers, yes plural, and purge it of old makeup and stuff I never wear. To my suprise and delight I found 2 of the most discusting colors of lipstick! Dark purple and dark brown! Why I had these colors after so many years I do not know! But I had to try them on one last time before they were thrown away! I was laughing remembering how I used to love to put on different colors of lipstick and kiss my notebook paper! Anyone else do that? Just me?

Well after I went through each drawer and threw away the old and reorganized all my treasures I was left with a new makeup container and actually found some makeup I had thought was missing! When your a makeup whore like I am it makes me feel so much better and productive! It made me want to go through everything and throw things out and reorganize! I know I have a cleaning sickness because none of my friends like cleaning as much as I do! Thanks MOM! But I am delighted to have made a small accomplishment in my small little world!

Recent Adventures with friends...

So Talia and I had been talking a lot about roadtripping it down to Redding, CA to eat some delicious In-In-Out! So randomly she calls me and asks if I want to go and we did! We got sme friends together and drove 5 hours to eat the glorious wonderfulness that is the In-In-Out!

I love the movie the Hangover! It makes me laugh everytime I see it! So in Hangover style Mama Hanks, Talia, Trevor and I go to 7 Feathers Casino! We played Bingo and won nothing! Lame but soooo fun! Trevor dressed like Alan and he looked and played the part! I highly suggest Bingo it is so much fun! Even if you don't win!

A cleaner closet...

I actually did it! I went through every clothing item I owned and tried it on and discarded so many! This is a pile of them displayed for all to see! I know it's kinda small but I'm so proud of myself because I am such a clothes hog! I never get rid of anything because "hey I might wear that someday!" You never know. It felt so nice when I was done and then I reorganized my room a little. I love to clean it's de-stressing to me. One of my goals was and is to get rid of things I don't need or use anymore and I did! Yay! I mean there's still tons of other crap that I need to toss but it's a start. I think it's funny how much stuff one person can have! I mean I boxed so much stuff when I had to move back home and I still have more stuff to box up! Ahh it never ends!
What's one of your goals for 2010?
I have a few more but I'll blog about it later!

2010...Yay!

So my dear friend and co-Shady Lady Wilma and I decided to go to 7 Feathers Casino for New Years, kinda a last minute decision, and it was so fun! We checked in at Le Best Western then went over to the Casino where Wilma and I got Players Cards! Fancy I know! I gambled $5 whole dollars at the penny slots and played for a good hour or so. We got tickets to a dinner and dancing extravaganza that the Casino was putting on and I'm so glad we did because it was a blast and a half! We got all fancy and when we got into the ballroom it was packed with Jennas and James'. That's what we call older people! Haha! The food was delicious and the band was so good! They played all sorts of music like Frank Sinatra, Abba, Kid Rock, The Turtles and Ray Charles. We danced pretty much all night and got to go on stage not once but twice! That's right! The second time we were on stage we got to welcome in 2010! To top off an alreads awesome evening they gave us party favors! Champagne glasses, New Years hats and noise makers. We walked around the Casino and wished everyone a Happy New Year I'm convinced we made some enemies, but we also made some friends! We went to another lounge and made friends with the table next to us. They asked if we would take a picture with them with my camera, and I'm never one to turn down pictures, so we did! I gambled another $5 and this time won $4.80 and cashed out! That's right $9.80 big money!!! I think we went to bed around 3am. Woke up the next morning, did some damage at the breakfast buffett and were recognized as "the two dancing girls" from the dinner and dancing thing. All in all it was an amazing New Years! Totes am going to do that again!!!

PTown...

My Mom and I took a long walk down Alberta Street in Portland and so I snapped some pictures of the pretty things I saw. The Joe pic is for my Sister's Best Friend Joe...shocking I know! He let us sleep at his apartment!

The cutest and quite possibly the most precious thing I've seen! A Glove Tree? I love Portland!

My Bestie Talia eats grilled cheese like everyday so when I saw this I had to take a picture for her!
